According to an IFT report, 36% of Mexican broadband users subscribe to an over-the-top (OTT) video service. The report stated that video is an important driver of online activity and watching videos appears to be the most recurrent activity among Mexicans.
Some 85% of online users watch free short videos over the Internet, with paid and subscription services being less popular. Out of the 36% registered OTT service subscribers, 70% are signed up to Netflix, stated the report.
