A recently released Media Consumer Survey states that 22% of Australians are unhesitantly willing would pay for subscription video streaming services. These numbers have grown tremendously from a base of zero in about last 18 months. The survey also states that “it is not that Aussies don’t like the idea of SVOD, its just that they are a little hesitant in paying for it when the same content is being delivered free-to-air.
In order to access their favorite content, 18% of SVOD subscribers use more than one service, and two thirds of them expect to maintain more than two services in future. Around 88% of TV viewers multitask, but the survey states that they are more likely to pay attention while they’re paying for the service.
