Telstra – Australia’s leading provider of internet & telecom services, experiences 30% rise in its video traffic in the last one year. The rise credits to changing viewing habits of Aussies’ towards streaming sports videos, movies and shows over internet rather than watching these content on a television.

Some key Olympics moments such as Australia’s mens basketball against US and the men’s 100 meter sprint, have contributed to a quarter of all this traffic through mobile network. Telstra is soon planning to launch a new video on demand platform to capitalize this buzz on a free subscription offer for tree months.
