Binge watching around 5 episodes at a time is the trend for around 70% people in USA according to Deloitte. According to a major consulting firm, video streaming and binge watching have trumped over linear TV in some demographics. The report says that nearly half of consumers now subscribe to video streaming services. Not surprisingly, Generation Y constitutes of the most subscribers. This age group has an average of 3 subscriptions. Around 35% do their binge watching once a week.
Also the majority multitask while watching TV, like browsing the web on their phones. Generation Y is reported to undertake an average of 5 activities while watching TV – social media, texts, web browsing, etc.
