Mobile video streaming though high on demand, is still restricted because of high data charges in many regions. In Malaysia, Digi Telecom Sdn Bhd is now offering a video streaming service called Video Freedom that will not charge for data downloads on its network for a fixed cost. It has partnered to stream content from YouTube, iFlix, Astro on the Go, Tonton, Viu, HyppTV and Dailymotion.
The app is available on both Google and Apple stores. The free data is not surprisingly available only for Digi’s internet plan holders, but there will be a fair usage data cap on those as well.
