The worldwide leader ESPN has announced its plan to build its subscription video on demand services powered by Major League Baseball (MLB)’s streaming infrastructure. The upcoming  VOD service by ESPN will not be linked to WatchESPN or any other ESPN’s family of TV channels and will offer sporting events not airing anywhere else.

John Skipper ESPN president said – “As WatchESPN continues to grow and add value to the multichannel video subscription, this new service will be an outstanding complement.” The best analogue for this new vod platform seems to be ESPN360, which has evolved into WatchESPN now.
